Privacy Policy

AI Page Summarizer reads the current webpage and lets you ask an AI questions about its content using OpenRouter. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what is shared.

Data Collection & Use

Page Content. When you visit a webpage, the extension extracts the visible text, title, and URL of that page. This data is stored temporarily in chrome.storage.session (cleared when you close the browser) and is used only to provide context when you ask the AI a question.

Chat Messages. Your questions and the AI's responses are saved locally in IndexedDB (your browser's built-in database) so your chat history persists across sessions. You can delete individual chats or clear all history at any time from the extension's sidebar or settings.

Settings. Your OpenRouter API key, preferred AI model, and other preferences (temperature, max tokens, streaming toggle, theme) are stored in chrome.storage.local — your browser's local storage. They never leave your device except when used to authenticate API requests to OpenRouter.

Data Sharing

The only external service this extension communicates with is OpenRouter. When you send a chat message, the following is transmitted to OpenRouter:

This data is sent only when you explicitly press send on a message. No data is shared with any other third party.

No Analytics or Tracking

This extension contains no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, and no remote scripts. It does not collect or transmit browsing history, keystrokes, form data, passwords, or any other personal information beyond what is described above.

Data Storage Summary

All storage is local to your browser. The extension does not maintain any servers or databases of its own.
